Creativity

I genuinely love how creative people are, all people!

Music, theatre, art, literature, dance, crafts and all sorts of other skills, many of which haven’t really changed much over the years.

Amateur, professional, somewhere in between. From the works that millions see to the work that nobody sees at all.

Because the truth is that people have always been creative, it’s who we are!

Don’t believe me? Cave paintings!

We communicated through images but also look closer, look at the handprints, even the small children made their mark, surviving through the ages “We were here!”… we may not know who they were, but we know that they existed.

And I don’t imagine for one moment that stories told around a fire were ever recited perfectly while remaining perfectly still! I’m sure plenty of arm waving and acting out of the best bits went on, and I’m sure many a story was exaggerated and embellished with each retelling.

We are, and have always been creative by our very nature, it’s in our blood and in our DNA.

We will never like everything that is created, not everything will be to our taste, but the one thing we must acknowledge is that it is creative and it is human!

Definitely human. No computer can do what we do, they can copy and remix, but they can never truly create in the way that we do.

I love every time I am shown something new, so even if you don’t feel that you do create (and I’m sure that you do, everyone does in one way or another) if you share music, art, literature, and any other work of creativity with others…even if you just recommend a song to a friend…you help, you show people the creativity of others, and that is important too!
