Art Commissions

I donโ€™t often have available art commission slots, so getting a piece made just for you, is a rare thing. However it does happen sometimes (As Iโ€™m typing this there are some art commission slots available).

So, how does it work?

The short version is, contact me at commissions@tamzincavendish.com and weโ€™ll have a bit of a chat about what youโ€™re looking for. If I can take it on Iโ€™ll price it up and let you know how much it will cost. Once you have paid the deposit, work begins!

If you want even more information about how my commissions work, read on!

(Note โ€“ this is for private commission work. I do take on some commercial commissions and contracts so please feel free to get in touch to discuss the project you have in mind)

Commission Chat and Art Ideas

As I mentioned, if you send me an email to commissions@tamzincavendish.com then we can have a chat. It can be really helpful if you have an idea of what youโ€™re looking for and what timescale you need it in as on average a commission will take around 50 hours. Sometimes a bit longer, sometimes a bit less, depending on the piece. Although donโ€™t worry too much, we can talk it through and come up with an idea between us. This piece of art is just for you, so Iโ€™m sure we can work together to come with an idea you love.

If you havenโ€™t had a chance to see much of my work then please let me know. I can show you some more examples so that you can get a proper feel for my style. Itโ€™s really important to choose the right artist for what you are looking for.

At the moment I wonโ€™t currently take on commissions involving people, or usually fur either. While I can do these, the amount of time it often takes will make the commission very expensive.

Once we have agreed on the idea and the price Iโ€™ll need to take a 50% non-refundable (unless I need to cancel the project) deposit to cover costs.

First Stage Of An Art Commission

This is when Iโ€™ll go and make a rough draft of the artwork. This will usually take about a week, sometimes a little more. This is so that you can get an idea of what the final piece will look like. If youโ€™d like any changes made at all then we can discuss those now to get the artwork just right. Once you have approved the rough draft I will start work on the final artwork. At that point further changes wonโ€™t be possible.

Final Artwork

Once I have completed the final piece, Iโ€™ll send over photos so that you can see your artwork properly. Then as soon as you have paid the remaining balance, Iโ€™ll send your unique artwork to you with tracking. I include P&P with tracking in the commission price.

Once your new artwork is with you you can enjoy it knowing that it is the only one in the world!

Important Notes

A little bit of additional information regarding usageโ€ฆ

The rights/copyright of the artwork remain with me unless otherwise agreed in writing. You may not reproduce the artwork in any way without my express permission.

I reserve the right to show the artwork in my portfolio and on social media (only after you have received it or after the date you intent to give it as a gift if it is for that purpose), but I will not create any prints/posters/merchandise featuring your artwork, neither will I create any exact copies so that your artwork remains unique.

If you would like to use the artwork in any way other than hanging the original on your wall then the usage rights can be purchased for an additional cost. Please get in touch to discuss this prior to using the artwork in any other way.
